Working with a client in West London, this project sought to create a new roof terrace and to enhance the connection from interior to exterior.

Embracing the reality that external space is precious wherever it can be found, this became an opportunity to experiment and challenge the typical roof terrace typology. While there is an expectation of what a space like this can be, we embraced the chance to test different spatial and material configurations. This allowed several options, each with a distinct character and feel. The final design feels less like a roof terrace and more a tranquil courtyard garden, with a vastly improved connection to the kitchen and dining area beyond.

This project is currently in the planning deliberation period, slated for construction in early 2024.
